Roots of Rap

Rap did not start that long ago.  It may have started at the most, maybe thirty to fourth years ago. If you listen to how much it has changed, from then until now you will understand the huge changes, like the words or even the style that they sing it now.  Back then, it used to be upbeat, and now it is not so much.

Hip-hop wasn't really popular until he 70's.  It rose mostly from young African-American males.  Not long after that though young white rapper groups started getting together, like the Beastie Boys, and even the girl rap group Salt n' Pepper was formed. Personally though, I think that the later stuff is better than the earlier rap.

Eminem was a huge changer in the rap game, he brought it from what it used to be, funk, and not saying much, to actually telling a story in each song. And that, I believe is actually worth listening to.  Eminem was also an idol to a lot of famous, and not famous rappers today. Eminem pretty much controlled rap when it was in its prime. He was up against huge rappers, such as Snoop Dogg, Tupac, 50 cent, Royce da' 59, and even Dr. Dre.  But Eminem was selling the most.

Eminem's band, D-12 was never really famous, they were really good, but they did get famous once Eminem did.  Once that Eminem was famous all of the other rappers in the group started getting famous, such as Kuniva, Swifty, Mcvay, Fuzz Scoota, Bugz, Proof, Bizzarre, and Mr. Porter.  Not all of the band is still alive though.  Eminem, of course is one of the most famous out of all of them. Proof, who has passed away, was Eminem's best friend, and it had tore him to pieces when Proof died.

Eminem has been a huge game changer in the history of rap, and he helped build modern rap, and he still raps, and is still one of the best.  The history of rap really is a lot different than a lot of people think, and that is why I shared some of it with you.

Tips on rapping

I'm going to tell you a few tips on how to be a great rapper, and if you follow these few tips then it may help you out, I'm not saying that you will go from nothing to something though.

If you want be a rapper you have to have some things that you have to rap about.  A lot of good rappers had bad childhoods, it makes them what they are.  Eminem was one of them.  He had an awful childhood, like I have explained in my past posts.  He shows how much he hated it, if you really listen to the words he sings, he's full of anger and sadness.

To rap you need to be able to talk/sing pretty fast, or be able to come up with certain rhymes that people like.  A lot of rappers actually offend people.  It makes them feel like they are on the top, and they are the best.

Eminem frequently had a lot of his punch lines ready for him if he ever needed them during his battles.  That way he could always find something to rap about, and he would also mix freestyle in with it, just to make it better.  He would always look for the doubt in someone, something that he could grab and use against them "using their own doubt against them" he once said.

Eminem has always been great at rap battles because he knows how to insult someone.  He always had the talk that he needed, and he definitely had the big ego to be good rapper, it doesn't actually help you rap, but it will help boost your confidence.  It makes you feel more dominant out there on the stage.

Eminem was a great rapper, and if you had the chance to learn from him, and not follow his mistakes you would also be a good rapper.  I think that Eminem is a very rare type of person, growing up with nothing but turning it into fame and fortune.  He literally went from nothing to in my opinion, the best rapper out there.

http://www.flickr.com/search/?q=Eminem

"In 2006, after the murder of his closest friend, and hip-hops most talented star became its mos notorious recluse. As he returns with a new album , Guy Adams travels to Detroit to find the tales of breakdown, paranoia and tortured genius."

Written by "The Independent" newspaper.

Eminem since then has come out with a few huge hits and soon is coming out with another in 2013.  He believes that it is going tone one of his best yet.

A lot of people know about Eminem , but not a lot of them know about him,and his on and off girlfriend, Kim, or even his teenage daughter, Hailie. A lot of Eminems songs are her, and I found a quote her. " I know and I want to be there for my daughter, whenever she needs me. I want to be with her on every step of the way, ya' know. She's the best thing that has ever happened to me."

Eminem really cares a lot about his daughter, I think that a lot of the reason that he keeps singing is for her sake.

Proof, Eminems best friend, not many people know how close they really where, he pretty much loved that guy and then he was just killed. Eminem misses him, he always raps about him.

Eminem is an interesting, intruiging man, he is full of mysteries and hate.

From Rags to Riches

Eminem was not born in Detroit on 8 mile. Most people think this is true but this is not the case. Marshall Mathers, was actually born in St. Joseph, Missouri. Eminem and his mom moved around a lot and at age twelve the got pulled into Detroit and at age 14 Eminem started rapping.  He started out with battle rapping at local clubs, and on the streets.  He then realized that he loved rapping and he was really good at it.  Eminem was raised by Deborah Mathers and struggled in poverty throughout his childhood.

"I have trust issues. With women, friends, whatever. You always wonder what their real motives are. Ive got a small circle of friends, and its a lot of the same friends Ive known forever. Right now, that works for me. I came out of some difficult things these past couple of years. I kind of feel like Im just now finding my footing. So I want to make sure thats secure before I go out and do anything else. I need to keep working on myself for a while."

In the quote it shows that Eminem is starting to come back from his hard times.  He had a lot of struggle with drugs and he would always try and get away from them , but no matter what he kept getting tangled up in it.

Eminem was not popular until he met famous producer and artist Dr. Dre. The first hour that they met they liked each other.  They had formed a bond and tothe their they had come up with Eminems first record "The Slim Shady LP"  witch was released in 1999 and was instantly a huge hit that had become a triple platinum record.

Although that his last record was big, his next one "Marshall Mathers LP" was even bigger, and better.  It was so big that it sold almost 2 million copies in the first week.

His last album was great but the people didn't like him much at all. He very quickly became the public eye of hatred.  His own mom sued him because he made her sound bad, with some things that weren't true.

This is the real slim shady " Eminem" and this is what you may not know about him.

The Real Slim Shady

Eminem was born October 17, 1972. For almost all of his life, Eminem lived with his single, drug stricken mother.  As a child Eminem and his mother did not uphold a stable home, they often moved around until they found a home on 8 mile, Detroit.

8 mile is one of the nastiest parts in Detroit, especially for a single mom and a young boy.  And then the neighborhood was terribly poverty stricken, run by gang members, and ran ramped with crime.

Considering the circumstances what Eminem was getting into was not a surprise.  Drugs, drinking, and criminal activity surrounded him.  As a single mother, Deborah, gave into the same kind of peer pressure as Eminem, she had a weakness for drugs.

Growing up Eminem was poor, and never had what we take for granted. Unlike his mother, Eminem can provide for his daughter. After all of his great successes, h e can now move away from 8 mile.

Eminem has been told that he cannot be a rapper, because of his skin color. The rapping is very racial activity and people do not like to accept the that he is different. They are being completely racist, even though they sing about how being racist is bad. Eminem is also a huge anti-bully advocate. He was bullied when he was younger, especially because of his skin color.

Her is a quote that I find true and I think it shows a lot about him " when you're a little kid you don't see color, and the fact that my friends were black never crossed my mind. It wasn't until I was a teenager and started to rap." It's not the rap part, but its the skin color shouldn't be a difference is spay at I see in Eminem.

In my blog you should expect to learn about Eminem, where he is from, and also what makes him my favorite rapper.  And also why he deserves more credit for what he does than what he gets.  You'll learn a lot of what made him want to rap when he was a child, and how badly he was really treated.  Plus I'll explain on how he rose to fame, and who got him there. This is my blog on Eminem.  I hope you enjoy.
